"Farmers could soon be turning to an army of wire-guided robots to protect their crops from flocks of hungry birds, thanks to new technology developed by an Ottawa company.

Noble Vision Robotics Corp., a tiny six-person firm, has created a computer-driven robotic system called the iScarecrow, which is being tested at a farm near Ottawa.

The system deploys robots around rows of berries, or among the grapevines in a vineyard.

When a bird swoops in for a tasty snack, it is greeted by a screaming robot that sends it on its way."
