This has been the most fun breeding experience! It all started with Skye, a pretty blue budgie from a pet store. From that Salty came to our patio table to join Skye. They got along well enough, but the cage they had seemed very big for two little budgies. So in came Sea and Pepper. Little did I know, they were boy and girl and couldn't wait ti find a nest box! While the two younger ones went about breeding, poor Skye because egg-bound and was lost Salty was sad, but now with the babies filling up the cage, Salty seems much more content.

The first baby to hatch was Powder, who has since moved on to his/her new home. It was such a happy/sad day to see Powder leave, and already having lost Skye, I just can't let anymore go! So, nest boxes removed, and all 4 remaining babies nearly as grown up as their parents, I figured one last photo update on the lucky 7. They will hopefully be livinmg happily together with us for a long time

Pic 1 Baby Looks like Sea only a bit more pastel, I'm thinking she'll darken up to look just like momma, but not sure.
